STUDENT CHARTER

Your progress in Wing Chun depends a great deal on the respect that you have for yourself, your fellow students and for your class and its instructors. We want you to get as much as you is possible from every session and to do that we all need to observe the same rules. The list is not exhaustive but it does set the framework in which we believe all of us can enjoy the training safely and develop our skills to a high level:

1) Listen to the instructor, trust the syllabus being taught
2) Instructors to be referred to as Sifu
3) Give the appropriate respect whilst Sifu is providing instruction
4) Pay attention, ask questions, give your best efforts
5) If you have to leave the Kwoon during the class inform one of the Sifus
6) Train a minimum of one class per week (Work, Shifts and holidays permitting)
7) Gradings will be taken when appropriate
8) Respect your partner, bow and salute with right hand in a fist and left hand closing over top before and after training
9) Bow and salute with right hand in a fist and left hand closing over top when entering and leaving the kwoon
10) No eating food or chewing gum during the class
11) Remove loose jewellery. Items that you can't remove should be taped up.
12) Direct questions to the Sifu's.
13) Come to the class with a POSITIVE ATTITUDE
14) Sifu Kwok seminars are compulsory for all students

In return we will:

1) Work with you to the best of our and your ability to progress your skills
2) Teach Authentic Ip Man Wing Chun as taught by Grand Master Samuel Kwok
3) Ensure that training is relevant to today's society
4) Provide additional opportunities to learn outisde of the normal class
5) Help you realise your own goals in relation to Wing Chun and self defence
6) Ensure a safe and enjoyable environment in which to learn
7) respect you as a person and a Wing Chun student
8) Welcome you to the family that is Wing Chun

These are our rules and this is your class, you will only progress by making and appropriate effort, contributing to a productive and respectful environment and by observing the philosophy of Ip Man Wing Chun. I hope we are what you are looking for.
